Lorrayne Tanner Clevenger, age 84, peacefully departed this life Saturday evening, August 2, 2008 in a local healthcare facility. She was a lady of strong Christian faith and a member of Thompson Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years Charles Clevenger. She was the daughter of the late John and Dausie Griffith Tanner. Preceding her in death were brothers Lawrence, Hoyt, and Willard Tanner and sisters Bess O? Briant and Moneta Moore. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Linda Clevenger, daughter Pamela Hawkins all of Cleveland and a dear sister Nellie Tanner of Chattanooga. Grandchildren are Chuck Clevenger of Chattanooga, Wendy Cory of Charleston, South Carolina, Christy Ritzhaupt and Billy Hawkins both of Cleveland. Great-grandchildren are Jackson and Anderson Ritzhaupt, Asha Caroline Clevenger, and Simone Cory. Special sisters-in-law are Manola Tanner of Spokane, Washington, Betty Kennedy and Blanche Clevenger of Maryville, Joanne Taylor of Wiggins, Mississippi, Carol Clevenger, Elaine Junkin, and Ruby Clevenger all of Cleveland. Also surviving is special friend Eunice Heath and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. A white dove release will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday, August 4, 2008 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
