Frank W. Parks, 82, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2009 in a local hospital. He was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church and was a veteran in the United States Army during World War II serving in the Pacific with the 11th Airborne Division. He was also retired from TVA after 40 years of service and was a member of IBEW Local 175. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband and father. He was the son of the late Laura M. Boring Parks and John Daniel Parks. Survivors include his loving wife Ruby Burnice Paul Parks; son, Eddie Franklin Parks and wife Valerie of Gurley, Al; grandson Cole Winston Parks and wife Stacie of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; granddaughter Felicia Moinette Parks of Tullahoma, TN; sisters: Bonnie Repass and husband William of New Market, TN, Henrietta Paul and husband Henley of Athens TN, Catherine Wooden and husband Ben of Cleveland, Penny Roy and husband Douglas of Cleveland, Charlotte Reed and husband Tom of Cleveland and one brother Neil Parks and wife June also of Cleveland. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 11, 2009 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Caywood officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Garden with military honors. Pallbearers will be Victor Paul, Steve Davis, Keith Repass, Mike Paul, Danny Haney, Ronnie Haney and Todd Paul. A white dove release will conclude the service. His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Friday, July 10, 2009 at the funeral home.
