William Vernon Allen

William Vernon Allen, 87, a resident of Cleveland passed away, Thursday, July 23, 2009 at his residence. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II and was retired from Magic Chef. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents William Arthur and Flossi Ash Allen and his wife Rita “Mae” Allen and daughter Loretta Marie Allen. Survivors include three sons: William Glenn Allen of Cleveland, Carl L. Allen of California, Vernon Darryl Allen of Englewood, TN; one daughter, Patricia J. Crackel of Cleveland; six grandchildren: Jeffrey Russell Crackel, William Ryan Crackel, William G. Allen, Jr, Steve Curtis Allen, Bryan Lee Allen, Dennis Allen, Christopher Newberry; one brother; one sister and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 25, 2009 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Freddie Peels officiating. Interment will follow in Beta Cemetery in Decatur, TN with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
