Harold R. Maddux, 71, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2009, in a Chattanooga hospital. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked as an auto mechanic for the late Cletis Benton and later for Ken Auberry for many years. He was of the Christian faith. His parents, Walter and Lois Frye Maddux, preceded him in death as well as a brother, Ralph Maddux, and a sister, Kaye Satterfield. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Maddux of Cleveland; six sons: Mitchell Maddux, Stephen Maddux, Ricky Rogers, Mike Rogers and Jerry Marler, all of Cleveland, and David Marler of San Francisco, CA; one daughter, Tonya Maddux of Cleveland; four brothers: Jimmy Maddux of Elkhart, IN, Paul Maddux, Pat Maddux and Chucky Maddux, all of Cleveland; three sisters: Elizabeth Gross of Cleveland, Joyce Satterfield of Chattanooga, and Ginger Webb of Cleveland; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor A. C. Cooper and Roger Stepp officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Codey Maddux, Dustin Owens, Zack Owens, Corey Marler, Michael Rogers and Larry Rogers will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday September 2, 2009 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
