Elizabeth King Thompson, 93, a resident of Cleveland passed away September 4, 2009 in a local healthcare facility. A native of Knoxville, she spent most of her life in Northwest FL. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Niceville, FL where she was much involved in volunteer work. She was a pledge to Chi Omega Sorority at the University of Tennessee. She was a homemaker and avid golfer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Joseph Thompson; parents, Ethelbert King and Mable Baker King and brothers, William Doyle King and James Baker King. Survivors include her children: James M. Thompson and wife, Dola of Cleveland; Joseph K. Thompson and wife, Grace of Troy, MI and Elizabeth F. Cain and husband, Ralph of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren: Jennifer Thompson Adams, Carter Thompson, Carl Thompson, Lauren Thompson, Chandra Montero, Amy E. Cain and Bryan Cain and seven great-grandsons. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 11, 2009 in Highland Memorial Gardens in Knoxville, TN with James Cryer of Cookeville is officiating.
