Veneda Evelyn Earnest Veneda Evelyn Earnest, 78, a life long resident of Bradley County passed away Wednesday , September 9, 2009 after a lengthy illness at her residence in Charleston. She was a member of Candies Creek Baptist Church and a retiree of 33 years from Bradley Memorial Hospital. She was a graduate of the National School of Business in Cleveland. She loved to travel, garden and most dear to her was cooking for loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude E. and Bonnie E. Jenkins; son, Terry Ray Earnest; sister, Robbie E. Earnest and her husband, Marvin (Whitey) and their daughter, Linda G. Earnest; and brother, Edward A. Jenkins. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Harold (Red) Earnest of Charleston; son, David A. Earnest and wife, Pam of Cleveland; granddaughters, Terra Shea Pass and husband, Corey of Knoxville and Sarah Beth Earnest and Charles McEntyre of Reliance; great grandchildren, Olivia Pass and Stax McEntyre; step grandchildren, Edwin Plank and wife, Brooke, Nicholas Betancourt and wife, Courtney and Katie Plank, all of Cleveland; two step great grandchildren, Savannah Betancourt and Caraline Plank; brother, Harold B. Jenkins and wife, Faye of Georgetown; sisters, Tommie L. Vincent and husband, Raymond of Cleveland, Betty J. Rue and husband, Jimmy of McDonald, Muriel D. Womac and husband, Larry of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Bobbie L. Jenkins of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Larry McNabb, Steve Earnest and Danny Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in Center Point Baptist Church Cemetery in Charleston. Pallbearers will be Nathan Vincent, Donnie Jenkins, James Earnest, Tony Rue, Jonathan McNabb and Pat Pitt. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 11, 2009 from 5:00-8:00 at the funeral home.
