Ruth Green Bush

Ruth Green Bush, 85, a resident of Old Fort, passed away Sunday, October 04, 2009 at the home of her daughter. She was a member of Way of the Cross Baptist Church where she loved to work in the welcome center. She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie Dunn and Addie Price Dunn; husbands, Robert Green and Charles Bush and son, Harley Green. Survivors include her children: Shirley Casteel of Decatur, Mary Lou Reagan and husband, Ronald of Old Fort, Bobby Green and wife, Carrol of Cleveland, Kenneth "Pete" Green of Gainesville, GA and Wilma McCarter and husband, John of Cleveland; seventeen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Bea Buckner and Mary Wilson both of Old Fort; brother, Charlie Dunn of Old Fort; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 6, 2009 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Ballew officiating. Interment will follow in Ball Play Cemetery with Ronnie Reagan, David Reagan, Craig Green, Travis Sykes, Tyler Sykes and Avery Reagan serving as pallbearers. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony. Her family will receive friends from 5:30-9:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
