Harold Bailey Jenkins

Harold Bailey Jenkins, 71, of Georgetown, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2009 in a Chattanooga Hospital. He was the accounting manager for the Olin Corporation where he retired after 38 years of service. He also served in the United States Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was of the Baptist faith. He lived a full life and treasured his family. He enjoyed the outdoors and nature, gardening, fishing and riding his John Deere tractor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Edward Jenkins and Bonnie Edra McCurry Jenkins; two sisters, Veneda Earnest, Robbie Earnest and husband, Marvin “Whitey” Earnest; and brother, Edward Jenkins. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Faye Jenkins of Georgetown; children, Debbie Rhoades and husband, Ricky of Georgetown, Rhonda Gregg of Chattanooga, Daresa VanHoesen and husband, Troy of Collierville and Alicia Holbrook and husband, Chris of Chattanooga; 10 grandchildren, Amanda Gregg, John Quirk, Jr., Ashley Gregg, Preston Rhoades, Chad Gregg, Mark Rhoades, Bailey VanHoesen, Camryn VanHoesen, Harrison Holbrook and Kadence Holbrook; 1 great grandson, Carson Church; sisters, Tommie Vincent and husband, Raymond of Cleveland, Betty Rue and husband, Jimmy of McDonald, and Muriel Womac and husband, Larry of Cleveland; brother in law, Harold “Red” Earnest of Charleston; and sister in law, Bobbie Jenkins of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Donnie Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in Johnston Cemetery with military honors. David Earnest, John Quirk, Preston Rhoades, Chad Gregg, Steve Earnest and Nathan Vincent will serve as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 20th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
