Billy Ray Thompson, 60, a resident of Murfreesboro, formerly of Bradley County, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014, in Murfreesboro. He served in the Tennessee National Guard and was co-owner of Auto Art in Murfreesboro. He was an avid fisherman and an aviation enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Bright Thompson of Murfreesboro; his mother, Peggy Thompson of Cleveland; three children: Brian Thompson and wife Corey, Nathan Thompson and wife Amanda, and Scotty Thompson, all of Murfreesboro; six grandchildren: Hunter Scott Thompson, Claire Thompson, Jett Thompson, Jasper Thompson, Myles Thompson and Sadie Thompson, all of Murfreesboro; one brother, Roger Thompson and wife Gail of Cleveland; one sister, Deborah Ensley and husband Kenneth of Cohutta, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 22, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Union Grove Church of Christ Cemetery with family members serving as pallbearers.
His family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at the funeral home.
