Kenneth B. Saunders, 83, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, June 14, 2013, in a Dunlap health facility. He served 12 years in the United States Navy and later was employed by Bowaters. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Pulp and Papermasters. Preceding him in death was: his wife, Reba Evans Saunders, and his parents, Robert "Bob" Lewis Saunders and Cora Kinsland Saunders. He is survived by two children, Randy Saunders and wife Lynn of Ooltewah, and Karen Smith of Jasper; five grandchildren, Casey and Abby Saunders of Ooltewah, Chad and Lacy Smith of Cleveland, and Christopher Smith and fiancée Blair Deacon; one very important great-grandchild, Code Smith, also of Cleveland; and a special caregiver, Ruby Hammons of Jasper. There will be a private family service held on Monday, June 17, 2013, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home officiated by Chaplain Jack Nichols.
