Jack Norman Sullins

December 6, 1938 — July 18, 2013

Jack Norman Sullins, age 74, the son of the late Jack Shafter and Nellie Belle Carden Sullins passed away Thursday, July 18th at a local healthcare facility. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and Cleveland, TN areas. He retired from Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 43 having been a member since 1975. He attended First Baptist Church Cleveland. Jack was an avid motorcycle rider and outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed RV?ing and walking. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Glenda Braden Sullins, the mother of his daughter, Jacqueline Sullins Helton (David) and his step-children, Regina Braden Dobbs and Gene Braden. These children have presented him with grandchildren: Michael Moyer, Ashley Moyer, Cody (Krystal) Dobbs, Lucas Dobbs, Shelby Dobbs, and Kayla Braden. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members and friends, especially his "motorcycle buddies." He is also survived by two sisters: Wanda Sullins Patterson (Donnie) and Tina Sullins Hixson. On July 30, 1988 Jack and Margaret Lea Prichard were married and began their life?s journey together. During their 25 years of marriage, Jack and Margaret lived their life together to its fullest. His step-son, Col Curt B. Prichard, and wife Gigi have presented "Poppy" with four grandchildren: Anna, Andrew, Abigail, and Addison. He is also survived by two brothers-in-law, John Lea and Virgil Lea, and one sister-in-law, Carolyn Lea. A celebration of Jack?s life will be held for family and friends on Sunday, July 21st at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home in Cleveland from 2-5pm. Inurnment will follow at a private graveside service for family at the Greenwood Cemetery in Chattanooga. In lieu of flowers, please make all memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, First Baptist Cleveland building fund, or a charity of your choice.
