Alice Faye Phillips

November 20, 1956 — March 9, 2013

Alice Faye Phillips, age 56, a resident of Benton, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 in a Chattanooga hospital. Ms. Phillips was of the Pentecostal faith and was a member of the Miracle Deliverance Tabernacle in Riceville. She was preceded in death by her father, Harvey Burger and granddaughter Gabrielle Phillips. Ms. Alice is survived by her children: Carmella Cross and husband Paul of Benton, Jeremy Phillips of Benton, Stephen Phillips and wife Christy of Benton, and Joseph Phillips of Cleveland; mother, Lurine Dale Burger of Benton; four sisters, June Hicks of Cleveland, Jan Rayburn of Charleston, Carol Burger of Benton, and Tammy Branham of Decatur; six brothers, Junior Burger, Kenneth Burger, Ray Burger, Bobby Burger, Anthony Burger, and Billy Burger all of Benton; eight grandchildren, Lacy Bivens, Andrew Phillips, Corey Phillips, Faith Cross, Mitchell Phillips, Seth Phillips, Tristan Vest, and Ethan Cross. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony Wynn officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Hill Cemetery in Turtletown. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
