Dorothy (Dot) Nell Nowlin, 82 years, Dot passed from a long term illness on Saturday, March 16th at the Hospice care facility in Chattanooga. She was originally from Big Spring Avenue in Tullahoma, TN but had been a long time resident of Cleveland Tennessee since 1975. Known by Dot to all her friends, she retired from Duracell after 25 years of service in 2001. For her family she was simply known as the best Mom to her kids and Granny to her grandchildren and to many others who crossed her path. The most amazing woman you could ever meet and she touched the hearts of everyone she came in contact with. No soul would ever feel uncomfortable in her home and certainly would never be hungry. Dot was preceded in death by her husband, John, son, Johnny, parents, Robert and Willie Deaton, sisters, Ruth, Wilma and Alvaree, brothers George, Raymond and Lee. She is survived by her children, Diane, Gary and Pappi; grandchildren, Joseph, Mandy, Kristen and Stephanie; great grandchildren, Zeke, Rosilind, Chloe, Parker, Kaydance, Skyler and Sydney Day; siblings, Betty and Donnie Deaton. She will be missed by so many more of those who loved her. Per her wishes, she will have a private service with her family and cremation. In place of flowers we ask that donations be made to her favorite charity, St Jude Children?s Hospital. Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
