Lola Faye Herd, age 81, a longtime resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013 in a local hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was active in her Sunday School Class. She was also very active in the Cleveland Bridge Club. She was a retired division manager with Sears and continued to become a successful business owner. She founded and ran Gold Creations, a fine jewelry company. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Thomas Herd; parents, James Erva Loman and Mena Marie Kersten Loman.; sister, Sylvia Kingrey and two brothers, James Loman and Lloyd Loman. Survivors include her children and spouses: Lonnie L. Herd and Linda Hunter Herd of Atlanta, GA., Janet Herd Roberts and David C. Roberts of Colonial Heights, VA., James T. Herd and Theresa Herd of Cleveland, TN., and Kelly A. Herd and Janet Crampton of Cleveland; eight grandchildren, Michael S. Roberts of Richmond, VA., Scott D. Roberts and wife, Rebecca of Sanger, TX., Lance Herd of Atlanta, GA., Jared Herd and wife, Rosanna of Atlanta, GA., Brittany Boswell of Cookeville, TN., Jeremy Herd of Cleveland, TN, Matthew Herd of Cleveland, TN and Jacob Herd of Cleveland, TN; brother, Harvey Loman of Little Rock, AR.; sisters, Cleta Johnson of Lubbock, TX., and Sharon Page of Baytown, TX; many nieces and nephews also survive. She leaves behind many dear friends and extended family from First Baptist Church and Cleveland Bridge Club and special friends and staff at Garden Plaza. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Jim Gibson officiating. Interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 ? 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the funeral home.
