Clyde Jones

Robert Clyde Jones, 71, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the family residence. He attended New Liberty Baptist Church. He was retired from the Chattanooga Local Union #43 Plumbers and Steamfitters after 25 years of service. He was an avid deer, turkey, bear and rabbit hunter and was also a fisherman. Mr. Jones was the son of the late John Hess Jones and Hattie Dockery Jones and was also preceded in death by his brother, Maurice Jones and his sister, Imogene Burrell. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Jane Jones of Cleveland; three children: Gary Jones and wife Gail, of Tellico, David Clyde Jones and wife Christine, and Deborah Lynn Brown all of Cleveland; six grandchildren: Dwayne Hodge, Adam Hodge, Brandon Jones, Ethan Jones, Shawn Tapley and Carlton Hess Brown; three great-grandchildren: Colton Hodge, Dustin Jones and Harmoney Tapley; one brother, Richard Jones of Tellico; six sisters: Argelina Lindner of Reliance, Irene Lindner of Reliance, Rosie Debity of Tellico, Iva Lee Jones of Cleveland, Pauline Graves of Tellico and Josephine Anderson of Madisonville; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Waymond Cooper and Pastor Danny Works officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Steven Yearwood, Tim Yearwood, Josh Stiles, Jackie Boyette, Steve Stiles and J.R. Burrell serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. His family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013 at the funeral home.
