David Eugene Reynolds

July 8, 1960 — May 16, 2013

David Eugene Reynolds, 52, a resident of Old Fort, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013 in a Chattanooga hospital following a short but mighty battle against cancer and other complications. He was a devoted Christian and a member of Clingan Ridge Baptist Church where he loved to serve as the New York director for several years and loved ministering to the people of Brooklyn, New York. David worked at Astec Industries for thirty years and had a close, loving Astec family. He loved working on cars especially his 1968 Pontiac firebird which he had been restoring for several years, he also enjoyed going to the rod runs in Pigeon Forge with his family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Woody Reynolds; maternal grandparents, Ina Helton Woody Frazier and Ben Woody; paternal grandparents, Ross and Vesta Reynolds. Survivors include his loving and caring wife of 33 years, Kim Talley Reynolds of Old Fort and three children whom he loved dearly, Amanda (Mandy) Reynolds of Old Fort, Amy Reynolds Ledford and husband, Chris of Cleveland and David (Adam) Reynolds of Old Fort; father, Paul (Bunk) Reynolds; one brother, Tony Reynolds; two sisters, Debbie Reynolds Earls and husband, Charlie and Rhonda Reynolds all of Ocoee; four nieces; two nephews; several special aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Clingan Ridge Baptist Church with Reverend Lamar Moore and Reverend David Peters officiating. Interment will follow in Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery with Timmy Anderson, Ray Anderson, Charlie Earls, Zach Patterson, Jamie Patterson and Andrew Smith serving as pallbearers. Special Astec honorary pallbearers will be Doug Graham, Alan Guice, Pokey Charles, and Jimmy Lewis. A white dove release will conclude the ceremony. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the David Reynolds Memorial Fund at Southern Heritage Bank in Cleveland.
