Barbara Kay Franklin

Barbara Kay Harrell Franklin, 78, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 in a local hospital. She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Virginia and also Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee. She was retired from Bradley Memorial Hospital after many years of service. Her special interests were spending time with her children, grandchildren, reading and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert C. Harrell and Martha Pless Harrell. She is survived by her three children: David Franklin, Laura Franklin and husband, Bill Marr all of Cleveland, Carolyn and husband, Terry Randolph of Nashville, TN; two grandchildren: Skyler Franklin Marr and Stephanie Franklin Marr; one brother, Robert (Bob) Harrell of Newnan, Georgia; childhood friend, Catherine Ray of Broomfield, CO. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. The family suggests memorials be made to the Bradley County School System for Adult Literacy, 1450 Strawberry Lane, Cleveland, TN 37311.
