Mildred Aliene "A" Smith Cronan, 85, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013 at her residence. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a former employee of Cleveland Hosiery Mill. She was preceded in death by her parents: Abner and Martha Stapleton Smith; husband: James L. Cronan; five sisters: Mary Bell Davidson, Gladys Stanford. Katherine Woods, Lillie Mae Stanford and Marget Elizibeth Pruitt; one brother: Tommy Smith. She is survived by two sons: James L. (Carol) Cronan of Buda, TX and Morris E. Cronan of Cleveland, TN; brother: Sterling F. Smith of San Bernardino, CA; six grandchildren: Katherine Cronan of Arizona City, AZ, Tammy Cronan Enriques of Delano, TN, Angela Cronan Chadwick of Cleveland, TN, Sheri Cronan Higgins of Cleveland, TN, Scott Cronan of Taylorsville, NC, and Kevin Cronan of Cleveland, TN; and eight great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Earl Farris officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Kevin Cronan, Jeff Raines, Keith Higgins, Billy Banther, Kyle Enriques and Scott Cronan serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the funeral home.
