Loius Ralph Garrett

Louis Ralph Garrett, 75, a resident of Athens, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 in an Athens hospital. He was of the Seventh-day Adventist faith. He was a truck driver for many years. He was a staff sergeant with the United States Army serving two tours in Vietnam with fourteen years of service. Mr. Garrett was the son of the late Ralph D. Garrett and June Pedan Garrett and was also preceded in death by his brother, David Garrett. Survivors include his wife of 49 ½ years, Nancy Garrett of Athens; son, Johnny Garrett of High Point, NC; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Terry Garrett of Athens and Arthur Garrett of Melbourne, Florida; one sister, Judith Ford of Westerville, Ohio; several nieces and nephews also survive. There will be no services at this time. Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
