Gloria R. Bergeron, 85, of Cleveland passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at her home. She was born April 25, 1927 in Mechanic Falls, Maine. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Mary Jefferson and was also preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. Mrs. Bergeron?s husband, Roland G. Bergeron died in 1992 and a daughter, Sandra Timmerman who passed away in 1994. Mrs. Bergeron had lived in Cleveland since 1953. Her husband had worked at Bowater Paper Company. She dedicated her life doing various volunteer work. She was a scout leader, and a leader for many years with Junior League Bowling. For many years she was actively involved with her church St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church. She served as secretary of Ways and Means along with being president of St. Therese Alter Society. A white elephant store was opened for the poor under her direction. She was a Bradley Memorial Hospital Volunteer for five years. She also worked with Progress for People taking care of the needs of 26 families in the surrounding area. She became the second president of the L.O.E. and served a period of two years. She also served as a member of the board of directors of the Cleveland Boys Club. She also loved animals and was a member of the National Animal Society for many years. Recently she wanted to help the Ark of Cleveland, a wonderful organization. After the death of her daughter, her grandsons became her life. She loved people and helped whenever she could. She is survived by three grandsons: Chad and Adam Timmerman of Cleveland, Shaun Timmerman of Knoxville, TN; two great-grandsons: Brandon and Joshua Timmerman also of Knoxville, TN; She is also survived by one nephew, Edward Small of Raleigh, North Carolina; two nieces: Starr Almond of Sanford, Maine and Pamela Taylor of Danvers, Massachusetts. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
