Quinn Lewis Hixson Sr.

Quinn Lewis Hixson, Sr., 89, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012 in a local healthcare facility. He was a charter member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States 8th Army Aircorps serving in WWII and was also a member of the American Legion Post # 81. He was retired from the United States Postal Service with thirty years of service. Mr. Hixson was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Mary Hixson; infant daughter, Anglea D. Hixson; parents, Luther Henry Hixson and Mary Fisher Hixson; grandsons, Brian Vallejo and Tanner Hixson; eight siblings. Survivors include his children, Quinn L. Hixson, Jr. and wife, Cheryl, Princess Snyder and husband, Russell all of Cleveland, and Tonia Whitt and husband, Jon of Indialatic, Florida, Carla Hayward of Chattanooga and Luther (Zoot) Hixson of Charleston; grandchildren, Stacia Hixson Taylor, Mary Ann Sloan, Quinn Hixson, III, Brittany Richmond, Rusty Snyder, Ryan Snyder, Jeremy Edwards, Emily Youngs, Shannon Lively, Tyler Hixson and Taylor Hixson; great-grandchildren: Leah, Jack, Katelyn, Chloe, Ethan, Christian, Rylin, Adin, Kaidence, Karrera, Ethyn, Jacob, Alexis and Riley Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with military honors. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and also from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
