Betty Davis, 73, a resident of McDonald, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was a member of Way of the Cross Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Bradley Central High School Class of 1957. She retired from Bradley Memorial Hospital after 38 years of service. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Davis; parents, Walter Lee McGill and Emma Mae Parks McGill; two brothers: Ralph McGill and Bobby Joe McGill. She is survived by her three children: Johnny E. Howard of McDonald, Richard D. Howard and wife, Teresa of Cleveland and Patricia L. Rodgers and husband, Jeffrey D. of Lauderdale Lakes, Florida; four grandchildren: Andrew J. Howard, Amy N. Mullins, Briana M. May and Keshia L. Young; ten great-grandchildren; siblings: Walter McGill of McDonald, Mary Parker of Cleveland, Lorene Swafford of McDonald, Dorothy Williamson of Birchwood, Della Rodie and Wanda Hall both of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2012 in Lee Cemetery with Pastor Johnny Nix officiating. Pallbearers will be Gary McGill, Travis Hall, Matt Mullins, A.J. Howard, Ben Madding and Jordan Dalton. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Her family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
