Howard "Marty" Stinnett, 66, of Cleveland passed away Monday, December 3, 2012 at the NHC Healthcare of Athens. He was of the Catholic faith. He served in the U. S. Air Force. He served 15 years in the Chicago Police Department. He owned Budget Auto Sales for over 20 years. He was a member of the Cleveland Noon Day Lions and the Main Street Cruisers. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ollie "Red" Stinnett and Edna Ruth Van Nostrom Stinnett. He is survived by his wife of 23 years: Sandra Mahoney Stinnett; daughters: Christine Stinnett and Caroline Stinnett both of Chicago, IL; son: Bob Stinnett of Nashville; sister-in-law: Joyce (Richard) Leamon of Riceville, TN; brothers-in-law: Bob (Deloris) Mahoney of Athens, TN and Gary (Christy) Mahoney of Knoxville, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside service with military honors will be held Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor John Looper officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
