Jessie Hazel Cheek Denton, 98, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012, at her residence. She was the oldest living member of White Oak Baptist Church where she was a member most of her life. She was preceded in death by husband Ben C. Denton, Sr.; parents, Jefferson Davis L. Cheek and Eliza Janette Jenkins Cheek; son, Ben Denton, Jr.; daughters, Hazel LeRoy, Charlotte Denton, Ruth Blackburn and Katherine Hysinger. She is survived by daughters, Barbara Ballinger of Cleveland and Brenda Herron of Henderson, KY; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; sister, Nancy Jenkins of Edgewater, FL and brother, J. D. Cheek of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, October 28, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Matthew Williams and Reverend David Rollins officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with Brandon Couch, Chris Couch, Blake Wilcox, Clint Ballinger, Casey Dobson and Nathan Williams as pallbearers. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony. The family will receive friends from 12 -3 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2012, at the funeral home.
