Arthur Brooks

Arthur Brooks, Jr., age 85, passed away, Tuesday October 30, 2012 after a lengthy illness. He had served in the Marines as a Military Police. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. He is preceded in death by his mother Velva Blackwell and father Arthur Brooks, Sr.; grandson, Joshua Shelton. He leaves behind his wife Mary Brooks of 65 yrs., 5 children, Judy Burger, Vicki Shelton, Arthur "Butch" Brooks, Johnny Brooks and Peggy Brooks; 21 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren; brother Paul Blackwell, He also leaves behind his loyal companion and best friend "Molly". Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2012, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Junior Burger officiating. Interment will follow at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with military honors. Pallbearers will be Brandon Brooks, Eric Brooks, Ron Burger, Brian Burger, Trey Burger and Jason Burger. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. His family will receive friends from 5 ? 7 p.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012, at the funeral home.
