Shirley Yvonne Johnson

Shirley Yvonne Lawson Johnson, 77, passed away Friday, November 2, 2012 in a local hospital. She was of the Church of God faith. She retired from Maytag after 34 years of service. Preceding her in death was one son, Kenny Lee Lawson; her parents, Frank Lewis and Lomer Mae Callahan Lawson; grandparents, Thomas Alexander and Sarah E. Stevison Lawson; sisters, Ester Llewellyn, Nuel Slack, and Halcy Martin; and brothers, Lester "Kink", Jack "Babe", Noah, and Russell Lawson. Her survivors include one son, Rickey Lamar Lawson, Sr., and wife Cathy Ann Hawkins Lawson of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Sabrina Lawson, Selena Wilson, and Rickey Lamar Lawson, Jr., all of Cleveland; four great grandchildren, Riley and Lilly Wilson, Zakary Underwood, and William Dockery Jr., all of Cleveland. A graveside service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2012, in the Union Grove Church of God of Prophecy cemetery with Dr. Roger Wagner officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Phillips, Brian Frady, Ronnie Phillips, Coby Phillps, Derek Hewitt, and Gary Mason. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony. Her family will receive friends from 1:00-3:30 p.m., Sunday, November 4, 2012, at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
