James Theodore Lashlee

James Theodore Lashlee, 88, a resident of Old Fort, TN, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2012, at his residence. He was a member of the Peerless Road Church of God of Prophecy. He retired following 38 years of service from the Denver and Rio Grande Railway as a railroad switchman. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Aaron and Eva Poyner Lashlee; sister, Hazel Stepp; and brother Clarence Lashlee. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Lashlee of Old Fort; daughters: Virginia Howard and husband Jerry of Old Fort, and Barbara Lashlee of Cleveland; son, Ted Lashlee and wife Carolyn of Salt Lake City, Utah; brothers: Edwin Lashlee and wife Emma of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Joe Lashlee and wife Lee of Tucson, Arizona; eight grandchildren: Roger Howard and wife Suzanne of Old Fort, TN, Vanessa Wood and husband Michael of Clinton, TN, Annette Thompson of Salt Lake City, Utah, Lorri Mosley and husband James of Cleveland, TN, Nancy Woodard of Cleveland, TN, Darrin Lashlee and wife Kimberly of Caldwell, Idaho, Nathan Lashlee and wife Laurie of Wasilla, Alaska, and John Lashlee and wife Emily of Salt lake City, Utah; 21 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2012, at the Peerless Road Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Brian Sutton officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony. His family will receive friends from 11 ? 12:30 Friday at the church prior to the service.
