Carolyn Peck, 65, a resident of Cleveland passed away Monday, November 5, 2012 at her residence. She was a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church. She was an active insurance agent with Horace Mann Insurance Company. She was a devoted wife, and mother. She was an accomplished seamstress and cook. She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles Leroy and Margaret Renfro Mitchell; brothers: Bobby Mitchell and Ronnie Mitchell; an infant sister, Naomi Mitchell. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, James Peck of Cleveland; her children: Shelley McCarter and husband Roy of Cleveland, Chris Norton of Athens, Andrea Bredwell and husband Michael of Decatur, John Peck and wife Ashley of Nashville, and Jayme Peck of Knoxville; Jim Peck and wife Robin of Cleveland, Sherry Kirsche and husband Steve of Jacksonville, FL and Kim Sylvester and husband Chris of Jacksonville, FL.; 17 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; sister: Gail Finley and husband Robert of Athens; brother: Jerry Mitchell, of Decatur and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 8, 2012 at l:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Sewee Cemetery in McMinn County with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Pallbearers will be Matthew Goforth, Joshua Norton, Hunter Ballew, James Peck III, Randy Thurman, and Jordan Goforth. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, 4-8 p.m at the funeral home.
