Joseph Park Sr.

Lt. Col. United States Army, Ret. Joseph Herman Park, Sr., 82, died November 15, 2012 at his home in Vero Beach. He was born in Cleveland, TN and lived in Vero Beach for 18 years coming from his birthplace. Lt. Col. Park was a graduate of Bradley Central High School Class of 1949 in Cleveland, TN. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He served in the U.S. Army for 26 years until his retirement in 1990 as Lt. Col. He owned and operated Park Electric, Cleveland TN from 1966 until his retirement in 1998. Lt. Col. Park was preceded in death by his parents, James and Estelle Park and brothers, George Park and Gene Park. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo Park of Vero Beach; sons, David Park of Bradenton, FL and Joe Park of Cleveland, TN; daughters, Debbie Payne of Toccoa, GA and Jane Abbott of Ringgold, GA; stepdaughter, Larita Wright of Green Cove Springs, FL; sister, Ellen Davis of Cleveland, TN; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Walker officiating.
