Walter Ploetz, 62, of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 surrounded by his family and friends. He loved his wife dearly. He loved to preach, sing and hold Bible studies. He and his wife opened up their home and hearts to Lee University students. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Genevia Ploetz; brother, Lyle Ploetz; and sister, Beverly Ploetz. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Patricia Ploetz of Cleveland; siblings, Norman Ploetz, Judy Renaldo, Linda Ploetz, Rudolph Ploetz and Dan Ploetz, all of New York; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, students of Lee University, William Lamb, Adriana Peels and Betty Chandler. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2009 at Lee University in the School of Religion building, Jones Lecture Hall at 11:00 a.m. A eulogy will be given by William Lamb and memories will be shared by Lee University students.
