William Anderson

March 12, 1932 — June 5, 2009

William "Bill" Anderson, 77, a resident of Madisonville and formerly of Bradley County, passed away June 5, 2009 in an Athens hospital. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a 1951 graduate of Bradley High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was well known in auto sales in Cleveland. He had a great love for his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Anderson and Hazel Cartwright Anderson and brother, Doyle Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Geneva Priest of Madisonsville; three children, James Anderson and wife, Debbie of Charleston, Kenneth Anderson of Clairmore, OK, and Glenn Anderson and wife, Midori of Rockwall, TX; five grandchildren, Jeremy Anderson and wife Chandra of Benton, Jacqueline Webb and husband, Kelly of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA, Carl Anderson and wife, Tabitha of Cleveland, Jackie Payne and wife, Amanda of Soddy Daisy, and Sho Itomura of Rockwall, TX; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Bailes and husband, Jerry of Cleveland; two brothers, Darrell Anderson and wife, Kathy of Cleveland and Carroll Anderson and wife, Ina Sue of Morrow, GA; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor A.C. Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with Jeremy Anderson, Nick Bailes, Carl Anderson, Josh Byrd, Steve Elliott and Jason Elliott serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 7, 2009 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
