Carolyn L Womack

Carolyn L. Womack, age 71, a resident of Charleston, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012, at her home. She was of the Baptist faith. "Nanny" was a most devoted grandmother to her five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Evelyn Stonecipher Sumner, two sisters: Agnes Shellhorse and Betty Lanpher, and one brother, Everette Sumner. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Gene Womack of Charleston; two daughters: Joyce West of Cleveland, and Theresa Pope and husband Rick of Cleveland; five grandchildren: Justice West of Knoxville, Jake Vincent, Jesse West Kari Vincent, and Jolen West all of Cleveland; two sisters: Marie Worley of Dandridge and Ginny Womack of New Port Richey, FL; one sister by choice, Berta Powell of Riceville; one brother, Carleton Sumner of New Port Richey, FL; special aunt, Lena Womack of Charleston; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2012, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Womac officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012, in the Womack Cemetery in Calhoun concluding with a white dove release ceremony. Jake Vincent, Justice West, Jeremy Pope, Jesse West, Spencer Womack and Jolen West will serve as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends Friday from 5 ? 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
