Phillip Preston Schoate, 59, of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012 in a Chattanooga healthcare facility after a long standing illness. He was born on April 15, 1953 in Dearborn, MI to the late Laura Alma and Lawrence William Schoate. Phillip was a 1972 graduate of Bradley Central High School. He received a B.S. degree from Lee University and attended the School of Theology. Phillip was a veteran of the United States Air Force and worked at Beaulieu of America in Dalton, GA. He married the late Regina Yvonne Schoate in 1978 and was a resident of the Kinser Road area for over 20 years. He was of the Pentecostal faith and attended North Cleveland Church of God. In addition to his parents and his wife he was preceded in death by his son, Jesse Schoate. He is survived by his son, Daniel Schoate; brothers, David Schoate and wife, Dawn and Johnny Schoate, all of Cleveland; daughter-in-law, Autumn Cooper; grandchild, Jesse Cooper; two nephews, Chris and Jimmy Schoate; niece, Heather Schoate; and many other uncles, aunts and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2012 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Barnett officiating. Interment will follow in Moores Chapel Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. His family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. the funeral home.
