Joshua Emmitt Ellis, 25, resident of Jonesborough, TN, passed away Monday, September 12, 2011 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a graduate of Walker Valley High School Class of 2004. He attended Cleveland State Community College and graduated from East Tennessee State University in 2009 with a B.S. degree in marketing. Joshua’s hobbies included photography, hiking and fishing. He was employed with Target Department Store in Johnson City, TN. Joshua was known as a gentle soul with a caring nature and an easy smile. He was selfless in his relations, always willing to cheerfully help his loved ones in any way he could. He was a source of pride to his family and a point of inspiration to his colleagues. He will be remembered as a beloved son, brother and friend. His legacy will carry on in the hearts of everyone he touched. Joshua was preceded in death by his sister, Etta Ellis; grandparents, Emmett and Veniece Ellis and Glen Spencer. He is survived by his parents, Guy and Karen Ellis of Cleveland, TN; maternal grandmother, Pat Spencer of Pauls Valley, OK; four brothers: William Glen Ellis and wife Heather Shea, James Spencer Ellis all of Cleveland, TN , Billy Guy Ellis of Grove, OK, Benjamin Lee Ellis and wife Talauna of Moore, OK; three nieces and two nephews also survive. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 C.D.T. Friday, September 16, 2011 in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley, OK. His family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
