Harold F. Woodard left his earthly home at River Pointe in Charleston, Tennessee and moved to his heavenly home on May 21, 2011. He was 68 years old. Born May 30, 1942 in Lakeland, Florida to loving parents Harvey F. Woodard (deceased 1984) and Cora C. Woodard O?Mary (deceased December 27, 2010). He was brother to David L. Woodard (wife Sandra) of Cleveland Tennessee, and Carolyn E. Woodard of Land O?Lakes, Florida. Sarah (Beth) Culpepper Woodard (Honey) of Charleston, Tennessee, was his adoring wife/partner/fellow traveler of fifty-one years. They were married at very young age and the basis of their relationship was "You and me, babe, and God can do anything". Children: Loving son Todd A. Woodard, and devoted daughter Wendy Woodard Jaynes (husband CJ) all of Charleston, Tennessee. He was adoring "Papa" to grand-daughters Dara Shell, Denia Webb, Dakia Taylor, Derika Woodard, McKenzie Jaynes and Madison Jaynes and awesome great-grand "Papa" to Katee, Coty, Dylan, Devin, Kamron and Kaden. Harold?s life was filled with music. He played piano, organ, trumpet, saxophone and accordion. He and Beth led the "praise and worship" at Charleston Church of God for many years. He attended high school in Lakeland, Florida and Lee Bible School in Cleveland, Tennessee. He finished a degree at Lee University. While attending Lee in the early 60?s he worked for the Cleveland Daily Banner as a courier and a service attendant at the Village Amoco. He was a retired carpet manufacturing executive; introducing international sales to the Dalton area. He was an entrepreneur of many successful businesses including Cleveland Carpet Company, Rebel Sky Diving Company, Satellite Dish Company, Smokey Bend Ventures and River Adventures. Harold was a man of diverse talents and vision that knew no boundaries. His retirement project was the beautiful River Pointe Luxury Waterfront Community in Charleston, a premiere development in Tennessee. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police having served as Deputy Sheriff with Sheriff Wendell Davis. He was involved in many civic and community events, including manager of Polk County Fair and Main street Christmas Parade. Harold lived in Lakeland, Florida, moving to Cleveland to attend Lee University and was a resident of Cleveland for forty-seven years. Upon retirement, he and Beth spent their time between their homes in Florida and Tennessee. He enjoyed fishing, boating and traveling with his grand and great grand children and family. He was a pilot and enjoyed flying for over 25 years. He loved life, God, family and was known for his funny stories and teasing manner with his family and friends. A "Reunion of Family and Friends to Celebrate the Life and Times of Harold Woodard" will he held Tuesday, May 24, 2011 from 10:00am to 11:45am at the North Cleveland Church of God Dixon Chapel, 335 11th Street in Cleveland, Tennessee.
