Martha Jean Harris Rouse, 59, a life long resident of Bradley County, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2009 in a Pensacola, FL hospital. She was a member of Tasso United Methodist church. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister. Martha was a friend to everyone. She loved life and riding motorcycles was part of her life. She was doing what she loved, riding the back roads of America by motorcycle. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe E. Harris. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Steve Rouse of Cleveland; mother, Sarah Harris of Cleveland; father in law, C.E. Rouse and wife, Eva L. (Tut) of Cleveland; children, Travis Rouse and wife, Shelley of Charleston and Joseph Rouse and wife, Deouin of Cleveland; four grandchildren, Megan and Morgan Rouse of Cleveland and David Cameron and Chelsea Bishop of Charleston; sisters, Sarah Stutz and husband, Martin of Cleveland and Becky Harris of Lexington, KY; one brother, Eddie Harris and wife, Gaye of Cleveland; brother in law, Randy Rouse and wife, Cyndi of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Sammie Hooker officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Travis Rouse, Joseph Rouse, Buford Horton, John Dodson, Larry Godfrey and Paul Godfrey serving as pallbearers. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 15, 2009 from 5:00-9:00 pm at the funeral home.
