Edith A Standridge

Edith Adele Stepp Standridge, 89, of Cleveland, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday November 3, 2009 at a local healthcare facility. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed church, gospel music, picnics and spending time with her family. She also dedicated many years to serving others as a nurse in several area health care facilities and hospitals. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Thomas M. Standridge, Sr.; daughter, Nadia Mason; parents, Carl & Donnie Stepp; sister and best friend, Cloa Clayton; and brothers, Ralph Stepp, Glen Stepp and Carl Stepp. Survivors include two daughters, Donna A. Botts and husband, Robert G. of Cleveland and Yvonne Loudermilk and husband, Dennis of Lenoir City; one son, Thomas M. Standridge, Jr. and wife, Judy of Cleveland; 9 grandchildren and their spouses; 16 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and two brothers, Paul Stepp and wife, Francis of MD and John Stepp of McCaysville, GA. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Phil Griffin officiating. Interment will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. in Copper Ridge Cemetery in Blue Ridge, GA with Jody Gregg, Jack Gregg, Shawn Hultman, Doug Lawson, Brian Meeks and Dewayne Gibbey serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
