Marlyn Woods, 75, of Cleveland, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 5, 2009. He was born in Gadsden, AL on June 18, 1934. He served in the United States Air Force. He was a retired crane operator. He was of the Church of God faith. He loved spending time with his family and visiting Gatlinburg, TN. He was the son of the late Sally Kate and William Preston Woods. He was also preceded in death by his brother, L. W. Woods and a sister, Evelyn Eldridge. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth Woods of Cleveland; children, Annette Crittenden and husband, Jeff, Phillip Woods and wife, Judy, Johnny Woods and Roger Woods, all of Cleveland; grandchildren, Shawn Woods, Kristin Bruce, Joshua Woods, Kyle Woods, Preston Woods, Jeremy Crittenden, Marcus Adam Woods, Marcus Aaron Woods, Peyton Woods, Tyler Satterfield and Mia Woods; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Jewel Tucker of Las Vegas, NV, Rozzella Biniecki of Tampa, FL and Ophelia Woods of Nashville; brother, Otis Woods and wife, Dewanda of Shelbyville IN; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Sears officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Preston Woods, Steve Smith, Randy Bacon, Steven Maddox, Stacey Hayes and Peyton Woods serving as pallbearers. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony. His family will receive friends from 3 ? 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
