Zane Douglas Withrow

Zane Douglas Withrow, 61, a resident of Jacksonville, Florida, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 10, 2009. After growing up in Cleveland and graduating from Bradley Central High School in 1966, he then graduated from the National Railroad Institute in Atlanta and enjoyed a railroad career of 40 years plus that included assignments in Atlanta, Baltimore and Jacksonville where he retired from CSX Transportation in March 2008. He was generous, fun-loving, enjoyed his corvettes, hunting, fishing, civil war history and visiting family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Pauline Withrow; and grandparents, Lester and Nancy Withrow and Newton and Mary Ratcliff. Survivors include his wife, Sue Withrow of Jacksonville, FL; one step-son Chuck Andrews; one step-grandson Austin, both of Tampa, FL; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob and Daphne Green, Mike and Joanne Nelson, all of Orlando, FL; three sisters and brother-in-law, Bonnie Hunt of Chattanooga, Bobby and Lola Underwood of Cleveland and Juanita Dady of Cleveland; and one brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Carolyn Withrow of Cleveland. Other survivors include nieces and nephews, Douglas Lyle of Nashville, Janice (Ray) White of Chattanooga, James (Valerie) Hunt of McDonald, Cindy (Darren) Pew of Cleveland, Lora Ort of Milan, TN, Andy Withrow, and Greg Withrow, both of Huntsville, AL and several great-nieces and great-nephews. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2009 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Bill Griffith officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell Baptist Church cemetery with the Reverend Bill Walker conducting the service. James Hunt, Erik Hunt, Shane White, Andy Withrow, Greg Withrow, and Corey Urban will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Pritchett, Frank Grady, Steve Hayes, Greg Stone, Larry Donfrio, Roy Bob Willis, and Chuck Garcia. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 at the funeral home prior to the service.
