Bula Ethel Hopkins Jones

Bula Ethel Hopkins Jones, 84, a resident of Cleveland, TN and formerly of Jonesville, VA, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was a member of the Zion Assembly Church of God. She was employed with Hardwick Clothes for thirteen years. Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late Obi Edward Hopkins and Ella Gallahon Hopkins and was also preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Foster Jones; children: Lyle F. Jones, Jr., Hugh Jones, Naomi Kuykendall, Karen Robinette, Virgil Jones, Silas Jones; three brothers, Hugh Hopkins, Elmer Hopkins and Lawrence Hopkins; one sister, Una Mae Johnson. Survivors include her children: Rose Anita Hayes of Benton Station, TN, Nathaniel "Bud" Jones of Cleveland, TN, Elaine Nance of Cleveland, TN, Reverend Dennis Jones of Sneedville, TN, Paul Jones of Jonesville, VA, Lynn Jones of Cleveland, TN, Gene Jones of Cleveland, TN, Alice Jones of Cleveland, TN, Dale Jones of Boone, NC and Patricia Messer; 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; several daughters-in-law and sons-in-law, several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2009 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with E.A. McDonald of Zion Assembly Church of God, Reverend David Jones and Reverend Todd McDonald officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Pallbearers will be Carroll Hayes, Greg Hayes, Donnie Robinette, Robert Jones, Josh Jones, Matthew Messer and Jeremy Jones.
