Geneva Rose Jenkins

January 4, 1923 — March 28, 2009

Geneva Rose Jenkins, 86, a resident of Elmcroft of Hamilton Place and a former resident of Cleveland, TN, died Saturday, March 28, 2009, at a Chattanooga hospital. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cleveland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin McKeithen Jenkins; parents, Tillman U. Rose and Lottie Shaw Rose; and brother, Tillman U. Rose, Jr. Survivors include one sister, Charlotte Rose and William Causey of Clinton, MS.; one brother-in-law, Bertram and Lil Jenkins of Hattiesburg, MS; three daughters and sons-in-law: Sylvia Mills and John Wieczorek of Chattanooga, Carolyn and James O. Williams of Cleveland, and Dolores and Carl Duvall of Alpharetta, GA; and one son and daughter-in-law, Edwin and Cheryl Jenkins of Hinsdale, IL;several nieces, nephews and cousins. Survivors also include nine grandchildren: Amanda Hailey of Atlanta, GA: Jon Mills, Clare Mills, and Emily Dykstra of Chattanooga; Mark White of Alpharetta, GA; Jay Williams and Andrew Jenkins of Nashville, TN; Courtney Rose Williams of Asheville, NC; and Bradley Jenkins of Oxford, MS; and six great-grandchildren: Mary Mac and Kaki Hailey of Atlanta; Olivia and Maddux Mills and Tyler Dykstra of Chattanooga; and Caroline Williams of Nashville. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Cleveland, TN, with Dr. Joseph Tanner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family asks that memorials be made, in lieu of flowers, to First Presbyterian Church, 433 North Ocoee Street, Cleveland, TN 37311. Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory has charge of the arrangements.
