Willis Million Park

September 28, 1920 — March 30, 2009

WILLIS MILLION PARK, 88, a well known local businessman and longtime resident of Cleveland, passed away peacefully at home Monday, March 30, 2009. He enlisted in the U. S. Air Force at the beginning of World War II and was soon proudly serving his country. He attended the University of Tennessee where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was the founder and co-owner of Insurance Incorporated and a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church. He was a former member of many local organizations including Kiwanas Club, Rotary Club, American Legion where he was a former Post Commander, Elks Lodge, and Cleveland Country Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Madison Park and Mamie Marie Million Park, one brother, Roger Park, and one sister, Sarah Clary. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Tipton Park of Cleveland; two sons: Jim Park of Cleveland, and Doug Park and wife Cheryl of Nashville; three grandchildren: Taylor Elizabeth Park, Hobey Tipton Park, and Sarah Jane Park, all of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Broad Street United Methodist Church with Reverend Reed Shell and Reverend Debbie Stokes officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Dr. Paul Bacon, Allan Jones, Scott Taylor, Jeff Rentfro, Kent Smith, Ricky Butler, Tommy Hopper, Dr. Tom Clary and Roger Clary serving as pallbearers. Members of The Kelly Class of Broad Street United Methodist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. His family will receive friends from 4 ? 6 p.m. Wednesday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and again on Thursday from 12 ? 2 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
