Bessie M Stewart

August 10, 1921 — April 5, 2009

Bessie McClure Stewart, 87, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009, with her family by her side. She was a lifelong member of Cedar Springs Baptist Church. She loved her church and was very faithful in God?s work. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. She enjoyed visiting the sick and elderly in her community. She loved gardening and was a great seamstress. She was very devoted to her family, and having no children, she became a mother to many. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Joe D. Stewart, parents: Martin L. McClure and Naomi B. McClure, sisters: Minnie Hicks, Anna Mae Ogle, Rosel Bowerman, Lucille Johnson, and Opal Grisam, and brothers: Austin McClure, Alpha McClure, Ollie McClure, Lloyd "Crockett" McClure, Leon McClure and Marvin McClure. Survivors include a special niece, Linda Kaylor and her husband Terry of Cleveland; special great nieces: Kristi Kaylor Reese and husband Bryan of Cleveland, Melanie Kaylor Parker and husband Jason of Montgomery, AL, and Amanda Kaylor and Mark Hernandez of Cleveland; two sisters: Elizabeth Nipper and Joy Lonas, both of Cleveland; one brother, Jack McClure of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. The funeral will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at Cedar Springs Baptist Church with the Reverend Eddie Hooker officiating and Rick Ogle and Lois Glass delivering eulogies. Interment will follow in Cedar Springs Cemetery concluding with a White Dove Release. Johnny Triplett, Bryan Reese, Steve Stewart, David Nipper, Rick Ogle, Chad Buckner and Leif Buckner will serve as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 5 ? 8 p.m. Monday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and also from 1 ? 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church prior to the service.
