Dovie Caldwell

April 4, 1920 — April 30, 2011

Dovie Caldwell, 91, passed away in a local hospital Saturday, April 20, 2011. She was a charter member of Waterville Baptist Church. Dovie was a caregiver for her church, her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, David Alexander McCoy and Dora McGowan McCoy; husband, T.D. Caldwell; son, David Caldwell; grandson, Travis Tinsley; great grandson, Bradley Carder; sisters, Edith Harvey and Bonnie Davis; and brother, Grant McCoy. She is survived by her daughters: Brenda Carder and husband, Fred; Debbie Walker and husband, Jack; Julie Works and husband, Darrell; adopted daughter, Diane Wade and husband, Floyd; daughter-in-law, Linda Caldwell, all of Cleveland; twelve grandchildren: Brandi Works, Fred Carder, Jr., Lt. Col. Mark Carder, Tommy Caldwell, Ronda Dillard, Melissa Roach, Terry Gibby, Reed Gibby, Dewayne Gibby, Stephanie Tinsley, Kayden Walker and Kensley Walker; several great grandchildren; brother, Dan McCoy of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2011 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Allen Lovelace officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Fred Carder, Jr., Lt. Col. Mark Carder, Tommy Caldwell, Joshua Carder, William Carder and Danny Caldwell serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Waterville Baptist Church Building Fund, 3722 Dalton Pike SE, Cleveland, TN, 37323.
