David Millard Sherlin, 86, moved to his heavenly home Saturday, May 7, 2011 from a Chattanooga hospital after a long illness. He was a member of Bancroft Church of God where he had served the church faithfully for sometime as church clerk. He will be greatly missed by all. He was retired from Brown Stove Works after many years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II in Germany. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Sherlin; parents, Dave and Stella Sherlin and a sister, Irene Pope. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Joyce; daughter, Rhonda Sherlin all of Cleveland. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Norman Stallings officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Doyle Parmer, Gerald Sherlin, Lonnie Jeffers, Calvin Goodwin, Joe Cain and Chet Romines will serve as pallbearers. His family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the funeral home.
