Rahn E. Purdy, 56, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2011, surrounded by family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father and papaw. He served in the U.S. Army and was employed with Duracell. He was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church and was an avid Harley-Davidson fan. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Purdy, and two grandchildren: Weston Carr and Melissa Holder. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Purdy of Cleveland; mother, Carmel Purdy of Sunbright; one son, Adam Terry and wife Rebecca of Rocky Face, GA; one daughter, Amanda Purdy Silvers of Hollywood, FL; two step-children: Jennifer Carr and husband Steve of Ocoee, and Bradley Zanoska of Cleveland; five grandchildren: Haylee Terry, Dallin Terry, Tanner Kincaid, Matthew Carr and Caleb Zanoska; two sisters: Jill Jarnigan and husband Randy of Sunbright, and Diane Brewer of Elizabethton; special pet, Harley; and several nieces and nephews and many special friends. Memorial services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Bryant and John Simpson officiating. His family will receive friends from 5 ? 7 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home. His family has requested that memorials be made to New Friendship Baptist Church, 1344 Chatata Valley Road, Cleveland TN 37323.
