Janie Alliene Belk passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011, in a Chattanooga hospital. She was 87 years old and a life long resident of Cleveland. She was a member of Philippi Baptist Church and an active member of the Bradley County RSVP Volunteers of which she was awarded the Worn Shoe Award twice. She was also a retired nurse whose career spanned 35 years where she served P.&S. Hospital, Speck Hospital, and Bradley Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Belk; parents William and Amanda Casteel; two brothers, Jerry and Steward Casteel, all of Cleveland. She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Hart of Ooltewah; one son, David Belk and wife Jean of Riverdale, GA; one grandson, Michael Belk of Ashburn, VA; granddaughters Amanda Hart of Ooltewah, and Kimberly Falsafi of Oklahoma City, OK; great-grandson Thurston Falsafi; twin great-granddaughters Audrey and Julie Belk; sisters Geneva Moore of Birchwood, TN, Carolyn Steelmon of Crandall, GA, Dorothy Craigo and Mary Fowler, both of Cleveland; brother Kenneth Casteel of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2011, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Sammy Hooker officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens concluded by a white dove release ceremony. Pallbearers will be Stanley Millsaps, Kendall Moore, Ronnie Moore, Faron Fowler, Michael McTaggart, Matthew McTaggart, and Justin Tatum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2011, at the funeral home.
