Lyverne McSpadden Godwin

Lyverne "McSpadden" Godwin, 82, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2008 in a Dalton hospital. She was the daughter of the late George and Maddie Balcomb and was also preceded in death by her first husband, James T. McSpadden and her second husband, Earl T. Godwin. She is survived by her three sons: Larry McSpadden and Gregg McSpadden both of Cleveland and Don McSpadden of Auburn, Alabama; two daughters: Yvonne Martin of Cohutta, Georgia and Brenda Ogletree of Statesboro, Georgia; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Adkins of Dothan, Alabama; nephew, Jimmy Adkins of Dothan, Alabama; niece, Jerri Ann Kent of Birmingham, Alabama. A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Her family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at the funeral home prior to the service.
