Ray Gene Baxter

Ray Gene Baxter, 61, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, December 29, 2008. He was a member of Ladd Springs Seventh Day Adventist Church and was employed by the Tennessee Department of Transportation as a surveyor. Mr. Baxter was the son of the late Paul Mark Baxter and was preceded in death by his brother Charles Lynn Baxter. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Faith Ann Baxter of Cleveland, his mother; Gladys Irene Ratcliff Baxter of Chattanooga; his stepmother Shirley Baxter of Old Fort, TN; three children: Jeremy Ray Baxter and fiancé Laura Lynn of Cleveland, Christopher Aaron Baxter and fiancé Magan Barkley of Cleveland and Rachel Ann Humberd and husband Zac of Benton; two grandchildren: Rayleigh Kendall Baxter and Conner Laws of Cleveland; two brothers Reynold Baxter of Cleveland; David Baxter of Chattanooga and one sister Paula Marie Baxter also of Chattanooga. Funeral services will be conduced at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2009 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Lucas Diaz officiating. His family will receive friends 5:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 1, 2009 at the funeral home.
