Barbara Ann Barnes Ballinger, 69, a resident of Cleveland, passed away at her home, after living a glorious life for her Lord, Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Born on May 6, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan, she moved to Cleveland following her high school graduation in 1957 to help with a family illness. She was a faithful prayer warrior for her Lord and a member of First Baptist Church. She had a heart for the hearing impaired and assisted in establishing the deaf ministry program at First Baptist Church. She had many professions during her life including sales clerk, nurse and deaf student interpreter. Her most recent place of employment was Watson?s Tip Top Grocery where she was a cashier. She had been nearly bedridden since being diagnosed with a severe case of rheumatoid arthritis in 1992. Ms. Ballinger was the daughter of the late Lex and Carolyn Bell Barnes and was also preceded in death by her husband H.L. Ballinger and brother Victor Rex Barnes. She is survived by her son Jeff Ballinger and wife Tammy of Augusta, Georgia; daughter Lisa Campbell and husband W.G. of Cleveland and grandchildren: Matthew Ballinger, Christie Ballinger, Hannah Campbell, Seth Campbell, Abby Campbell and a number of special cousins and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Griffith officiating. Pall bearers will be Matthew Ballinger, Joe Bell, Seth Campbell, Brian Pierce, Roy, Pierce, Trace Pierce and Duane Sullivan. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove release concluding the service. Her family will receive from 10:00 a.m. ? 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2008 prior to the service.
